The Obvious and the Speculative

The obvious interpretation as to why the U.S. government isn’t demanding removal and why Israel’s government is not actually removing settlements: Both are actively working against the establishment of a Palestinian State while flapping their lips in favour of this proposition.

Less obvious (perhaps not) — the U.S. and Israel will continue to steal Palestinian land and resources for years and this will continue to undermine the possibility of a viable Palestinian State.

but

Could it be that after such a ruthless and immoral collection of actions, Israel will still find itself as insecure as ever? After all, the Palestinian people will still be there wanting to live decent lives on their land with their resources. Where’s the security in that right?

Yes! A built-in insecurity! One useful to continuing a systematic jurisdictional and semantic brutality (i.e., one oppresses through a policing of space and language.).

The problem: How to “secure” the minds of Palestinians and Israelis alike.

Speculation: Securing minds requires securing space. How are these people called U.S.-Jews, Israeli-Jews, Israelis, Arab-Israelis, Palestinians, Christian-Palestinians, Jewish-Palestinians, Druids etc. to be secure? That is, how can the minds of most of the various tribes and familial alignments be secured?

Obviously and embarrassingly (the obvious being regarded as impossible because idealistic - “humans can’t be that way”), obviously and embarrassingly, the means to securing the various tribal minds requires that tribal mind (tribal consciousness) expand. In other words, the idea of “my tribe”, “my people” needs to expand. Ideally this consciousness expansion would evolve to the point of total inclusion of all tribes. Then many of the grounds and pretexts for insecurity become meaningless. Police space? For whom? (Yes. Of course. So many holes in this one …. . )

What will remain? Us. Who? Us human beings. Don’t worry though - there’s more than enough problems with us monkeys as individuals. Who needs tribal self-absorption breeding division and conflict on top of that!
